Police investigate East Mackay baby boy’s sudden death
The six-month old boy was found unresponsive and taken to hospital in a critical condition.

DETECTIVES are investigating the death of an East Mackay baby found unresponsive at home.
He was taken to Mackay Base Hospital in a critical condition, before being transferred to Townsville Hospital.
Police confirmed the boy died on Thursday.
"An investigation has commenced in relation to this matter," a spokeswoman said.

A specialist team of investigators from Brisbane was flown to Mackay and is working with detectives as part of the ongoing investigation.
Police said there was no link between the family and the Department of Child Safety, but confirmed all lines of inquiry were being looked at as part of the investigation.

Detectives have spoken with a number of witnesses as part of the probe, but no one had been taken into custody.
