A crime scene has been established after a fire was allegedly deliberately lit at an op shop in the Mackay CBD.
Emergency crews were called to the Red Cross on Sydney Street about 11.30pm Sunday following reports of a fire.
Reports indicated a bag of clothes was set on fire and flames spread to the side of the building.
A Queensland Fire and Emergency Services spokesman said when crews arrived there was a blaze on the side of the building so officers leapt to action putting it out.
The fire was extinguished in one minute.
The QFES spokesman said officers had to force entry inside the property to check if the blaze had spread and extinguished a fire in the office area.
No one was injured in the blaze.
A Queensland Police Service spokesman said police were treating the fire as suspicious and a crime scene had been established at the site.
More to come.
