Mount Pleasant man charged with pub assault
A man was allegedly bashed in the toilet block at a popular Mackay tavern, leaving him with facial injuries and police trying to figure out what was behind the incident.

Police are calling for witnesses to an alleged assault at a popular Mackay tavern.
A 55-year-old man suffered facial injuries after he was allegedly bashed in the toilets at the Mount Pleasant Tavern about 1.30am Sunday.
At this stage it is unknown why the alleged incident occurred.
Detective Senior Sergeant Chris Eaton said police arrested and charged a 33-year-old Mount Pleasant man with assault occasioning bodily harm following the incident.
He will appear in Mackay Magistrates Court later this month.
The older man received cuts and grazes to his face.
Sergeant Eaton said police were appealing for any witnesses to the assault to come forward.
