Cassius James Thimble faced Mackay Magistrates Court via video link from the watch-house before Magistrate Bronwyn Hartigan.
The Deeragun man had allegedly attempted to steal a car from a woman in the Caneland Central shopping centre car park, on Mangrove Rd, at around 9:24am Sunday.
Police will allege Mr Thimble approached a parked car and attempted to physically remove the woman, before leaving the area on a bike.
Mr Thimble then moved to a second business — understood to be the Ampol service station across the street — and demanded a second woman “get out” of her car.
According to police, he was also unsuccessful, with the woman fighting him off.
Mr Thimble then allegedly pushed a woman away from her parked car on the corner of Victoria St and Gregory St, and jumped in the vehicle before the woman and a nearby man physically removed him.
Police will allege he left on his bike and was later found at a licenced venue in the city.
The Townsville man has been charged with three counts of attempted robbery, and entering a premises with intent to commit an indictable offence.
Ms Hartigan said Mr Thimble was not eligible to apply for bail given he was on a return to prison warrant and his parole was suspended.
She ordered a brief of evidence be delivered to solicitor Geoff Govey, of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Legal Service, and set a committal mention date for April 22.
