A return to prison warrant was on the cards for a man who was allegedly caught breaking into a Mackay home on Tuesday night while wearing a bandana.
Jamie Alan Cahill faced Mackay Magistrates Court on Wednesday from the watchhouse, less than 24 hours after police arrested him outside of a home along Malcomson St in North Mackay.
Police will allege they were called to the address after reports of a male trespasser and upon arrival they sighted the 45-year-old Bucasia man inside the property concealing his face with a bandana.
They will further allege Mr Cahill smashed a window to exit the house and then climbed onto the roof before he then voluntarily climbed down to the ground to speak with police officers.
Magistrate Damian Dwyer said police charged Mr Cahill with enter premises with attempt to commit an indictable offence and obstructing a police officer in their duties.
The court further heard there was an application before the court to grant a return to prison warrant for Mr Cahill.
Mr Cahill, who has not entered a plea for either charge, was remanded in custody with the matter adjourned to Friday, March 15.
