Police prosecutor Linden Pollard told Mackay Magistrates Court on February 15, 2022, that it was “a large, large sizeable quantity of drugs” in his submission for refused bail.

Defence solicitor Marcus Hahn said Mr Lloyd did not live at the house, rather he was staying at his girlfriend’s house in Marian.

Magistrate Bronwyn Hartigan said the drugs were clearly for a commercial purpose, but said Mr Lloyd was “innocent until proven guilty”, and he was not the owner of the house.

“He’s not ordinarily involved in criminal activity, it’s been 35 years.”

“He doesn’t sound like a mastermind.”

Mr Lloyd was granted bail with a condition that he had no contact with Anthony Peter Rostirolla, the second man charged with drug trafficking after the house raid.

A court date was set for April 11, 2022.
