Emergency crews called to truck crashes at Bakers Creek, Gregory River

Two drivers were taken to hospital after separate crashes involving trucks overnight, one of which blocked the Bruce Highway south of Mackay.

A driver was taken to hospital after a crash involving a truck and vehicle that closed the Bruce Highway south of Mackay for several hours.

Emergency crews were called to the corner of the highway and Holmes Rd at Bakers Creek just before 7.30pm Wednesday.

Transport and Main Roads Mackay issued a notice about 8.20pm the northbound lane of the highway was blocked because of the crash.

A man suffered minor injuries and was taken to Mackay Base Hospital in a stable condition.

TMR Mackay said at 8.30pm the crash had been cleared and the highway was reopened.

Then at 3.46am a man in his 50s suffered a head injury in a single truck crash on the Bruce Highway at Gregory River.

He was taken to Proserpine Hospital in a stable condition.
