A brand new Mexican franchise will open in Mackay, with a bold drive-through menu option to set the store apart from its competitors.

Drive-through ribs and high-quality ingredients are the keys to success for Mackay’s newest Mexican restaurant.

Burrito Bar will officially open in Rural View on Tuesday, with its drive-through service only the second of its kind in the fast food chain.

National learning and development manager Tiara Eather said the lead up to opening the store had been nerve-racking, but it was exciting to finally open.

“It’s been a few months in the making, plenty of blood, sweat and tears have gone into the process after securing the site,” she said.

“We’ll be Burrito Bar’s second drive-through store in Australia, so there’s been a lot for us to get through and make sure it’s already to go.”

Serving high-quality food with a quick turnaround time is the focus for the new store.

Ms Eather said the drive-through would be the difference between the new Burrito Bar and its competitors.

“We’re the first of our kind that will be able to get ribs through the drive-through, which is such a great point of difference for us,” she said.

“To get the ribs through our drive-through has really shaken the market up and that’s really exciting.

“We need to make sure we can get everything out with a fast turnaround time for drivers, but also make sure the quality is where it needs to be.”

The store is still hiring staff, with up to 10 additional positions needing to be filled.

Ms Eather said it was a nervous time within the business.

“Being a new store, we’re not exactly sure what staff levels need to be at, but we’re definitely advertising more positions,” she said.

“We’ll be on MenuLog and DoorDash, so I’m sure the shop will be pretty busy.”
