More than 1800 jobs are currently up for grabs across Mackay Isaac Whitsunday as Covid-19 and border closures add pressure on the region's long-term labour shortage.
Greater Whitsunday Alliance chief executive Kylie Porter said the worker shortage was not just being felt in one particular sector - but across the entire job market.
Employers are crying out for skilled workers, as well as people across a spectrum of levels, qualifications and skills.
Ms Porter said while the issue was nothing new for the region, Covid-19 and international border closures had highlighted the labour shortage.
"In 2021, it is pointing a spotlight directly on those sectors which are experiencing more pressures than usual," she said.
"The jobs that are available across our region are in all levels, from a storeperson in a warehouse, cleaners, all the way up to engineers, professional roles and everything in between.
"It's a reflection of a very strong regional economy which we're lucky to have in Mackay Isaac Whitsunday."

Mackay Mayor Greg Williamson has warned fruit and vegetables could wither on the vine if 4000 jobs for seasonal crop picking in the region were not filled soon, as this could lead to price hikes.
Ms Porter warned yields could drop in 2021 if a solution was not found.
"The state and federal governments are working closely to find solutions for short term seasonal workforce shortages," she said.
"Longer term as a region we are working proactively on future proofing our labour market.
"We're using collaborate projects like the Regional Jobs Committee, the Whitsunday Aquaculture and Agriculture Tech Skills Hub - focusing on those types of forward thinking projects to come up with solutions for this problem in the future."
Ms Porter said it was also important to note that labour shortages were being experienced across Australia, not just in Mackay Isaac Whitsunday.
In March, the Regional Australia Institute unveiled a multimillion-dollar national awareness campaign, "Move to More", encouraging city-dwellers to find their new home in the regions.
The campaign positions regional Australia as an attractive and viable alternative to capital city living, with opportunities for a more affordable lifestyle and a better work-life balance.
