New details have emerged in the tragic and sudden death of a 19-year-old girl at an Ipswich home at the weekend.
Krystle Monks was found unconscious at a Bundamba home and taken to Princess Alexandra Hospital about 9.30pm Saturday.
She died in hospital on Sunday night.
It is understood authorities were told the 19-year-old woman hit her head after falling from a bed at her partner’s home.
Grieving friends have shared the social media hashtag ‘forever 19’ in growing numbers online, while police continue to investigate her death.
It is understood Krystle had been working as a barista at the Coffee Club at Ipswich.
She would have turned 20 in two weeks.
A memorial of flowers and stuffed teddies has been assembled at the mailbox of her partner’s house.
“We heard a siren on Saturday night and I came out to look but couldn’t see any lights or anything, and then on Sunday we found out what happened,” one neighbour said.
Police have been on the scene since Sunday morning and investigations are still underway.
“It’s eerie not knowing what was going on until we saw it in the news and on Facebook.”
Others said they didn’t know the girl but that the residents of the house hadn’t been there for long.
“Honestly they’d maybe only lived there three or four months, I remember seeing the previous people moving out a bit before Christmas,” another neighbour said.
Friends and loved ones have taken to social media to share tributes for the 19-year-old.
Akierra Denton, a close friend, shared a heartbreaking tribute. “You were taken way to soon away from everyone,” she said.
“I cannot believe that you’ve left everyone so early … you are one of the most amazing, loving and people that I know.
“You will always be missed by everyone that you came into contact with. You touched so many people in so many ways and we are all devastated that you’ve gone.
“We will come across each other again either later in this life or in the next life but until than you will be missed.
“Let your spirit rise high and free. You’re in a better place away from this cruel world. You will always be looking down on everyone that you know making sure they are healthy and happy but sadly no one got to see you happy.
“You will be missed gorgeous girl … let your soul rise high and free and enjoy paradise and be yourself.”
More friends and loved ones shared in the anguish.
“Rest easy Krystal (sic) you will be missed,” Shimma Mccormack said.
Trinity Clark said Krystle “didn’t deserve to die”.
“Rest in peace gorgeous even though we weren’t close … you didn’t deserve to die I hope heaven is treating you way better up there and sending hugs to your family,” she said.

A Queensland Police representative said the 19-year-old reportedly collapsed in a house in Bundamba on Saturday, February 4.
Police are still investigating the cause of death after the alarm was first raised with a triple-0 call on Saturday night to say the woman had collapsed.
Police have doorknocked local homes in the area on Rule Drive and an incident command has been set up at the Yamanto Police Station. Detectives from the Homicide Squad are understood to be assisting with initial investigations.
