Ringbark Ace equals track record for trainer Lawrance

Over the last week at the three Ipswich meetings, multiple trainers have produced either a treble or double.

ON WEDNESDAY at Albion Park, Prenzlau-based trainer Serena Lawrance produced Ringbark Ace (Fabregas - Just A Show) having its third race start to run an equal track record of 22.30s for the 395m.

The black dog whelped in Sept 2016, exploding from the boxes to record an unheard of early sectional of 10.22s with a run home time of 12.08s scoring by an ever-widening 9 1/2 lengths.

The greyhound's career kicked-off back in August with a second placing at Albion Park over the 520m, where on that occasion it found the distance a tad to far. After beginning brilliantly and setting up a long lead mid race, the dog tired in the concluding stages. Given three months off after that run, he resumed to win at Albion Park in late November over the 395m running a slick 22.57s, which lead into Wednesday's equal-track record performance.

Ringbark Ace now jointly holds the record with the Frank Hancock-trained pair Mr Babicci (26/02/2014) and Anja (25/10/2015.

It will be interesting to watch this dog's progression to see if it's given time to mature, and can eventually run out a strong 500m.

Trainers riding hot form with multiple winners

OVER the last week at the three Ipswich meetings a few trainers have produced either a treble or double.

Northern Rivers-based trainer Dean Turley had three winners: Zulu Beat scored on Saturday night clocking a near-track record run of 16.80s for the 288, before Dean had a double with Indominous Dane and Air Time on Tuesday.

Karen Davies' kennel is very much in-form at present, winning with Wy Yung Floods on Friday and Rocky Spies on Saturday.

Another female trainer whose team is racing well is Pam Field. She saluted with Richmond Road on Friday over the 288m and he backed up to score again over the same journey on Tuesday.

Aim, trained by Terry Guymer was another to do the Friday - Tuesday double, scoring both times over the 431m.

In a big week for female trainers, Kerry Hoggan won with Zillie Bean on Friday and Invictus Clive on Tuesday.

Kevin Galloway produced a double at the Tuesday meeting with Who Nose Size and Galway Johann.
