Queen should remain as our head of state

To dump our present system would be courting disaster

ABORIGINAL people fight for their heritage and so should Australians regardless of colour or creed.

Where would we be if Captain Cook never entered our shores.

What if Great Britain had not been over-populated and had sent its convicts to the New World - what if China or Japan had arrived instead?

It's all right for the bandana kid, Peter FitzSimons, to weigh into the republican debate. Our present system has given him and all the other rabid republicans a good standard of living.

It's the old army game of divide and conquer.

To dump our present system would be courting disaster.

Queen Elizabeth II during World War II was hands-on as an ambulance driver who served her country well right up to the present day.

If it's not broken, why fix it?

It would seem our lack-lustre leaders are trying to take the heat away from the country's real problems that they can't fix.

And that's why, at this time, they have now thrown the republican debate into the arena.

God save the Queen and her descendants.
