THANK you for Saturday's edition and the diverse stories contrasting priorities in the public and private sectors of our health system in Ipswich.

Geoff Egan's piece highlighted that Ipswich is much worse off than the Queensland average when it comes to "potentially life threatening" cases being treated through our public system.

The very prominent adverts by Jennifer Howard and Shayne Neumann, our proud Labor representatives, failed to mention health but stood in distinct contrast to this disappointing news.

Meanwhile,we learned from Emma Clarke that our community is blessed to have the services of Dr David Sharp who, as well as servicing aesthetic demand, is meeting the increasing needs stemming from skin cancer needs.

It was good to hear about his balanced approach and his commitment to local charities - what a top bloke.

I look forward to further updates on the balance being struck in our health system and the attitude of our elected representatives.
