If you love it, then keep it clean

When it's Clean Up Australia Day on March 4, is that the only day we want a clean Australia?

HOW can people who say and believe they love Australia leave their litter on the ground to make our Australian environment so ugly?

Often there are handy bins. You may be surprised to know bending over and picking up litter for a couple of hours is a good weight-loser. One of our biggest causes of litter in suburbia are neglected free newspapers and junk mail.

If you don't want it, why is it too much trouble to throw it in the bin? Sorry, free newspapers and junk mail on the footpath are too big for me to pick up and put in my recycling plastic bag. If it hasn't been left for a long time and is still clean, please throw it into the suitable bin.

Smokers, why is it your privilege to just drop your butts? Why not throw them into the nearest bin or handy receptacle?

For that matter, is it mandatory to throw fast food such as MacDonald's and KFC out of the vehicle after finishing with the packaging?

Why can't we keep it in the vehicle until there's a bin handy?

Do we hate Australia and the freedom we enjoy to do this? When it's Clean Up Australia Day on March 4, is that the only day we want a clean Australia?

Don't we want a clean Australia all the time? I'm the old man with long tongs and two plastic bagspicking up so much litter on the footpath and street in the early morning. I'd like to appeal to the ICC to put more recycling bins in the parks.

I would say most litter is recycling. Sorry, I can do so very little just in Newtown and Eastern Heights including Limestone Park.
