Three people, including a child, were taken to hospital overnight after a crash on a main road south of Gympie.
Paramedics were called to the Bruce Hwy in Pomona near the Gardeners Rd overpass about 6.30pm on Saturday to a two-car crash in the northbound lanes.
A QPS spokesman said the female driver had made a U-turn on the Hwy and collided with another car coming the other way.
An adult woman and a child suffered neck injuries and were taken to nearby Gympie Hospital in a stable condition.
A third male adult escaped with neck pain and was taken in a stable condition to Sunshine Coast Hospital.
Traffic was blocked for about 20 minutes before police reopened the lane.
