Teen learner driver charged with driving offences after Gympie fence crash
A 19-year-old learner driver from interstate has been charged with multiple driving offences after allegedly crashing into a fence on a residential street in Gympie.

A night on the streets of Gympie has ended in a list of police charges for a 19-year-old male learner driver from New South Wales.
The teenager was allegedly doing burnouts and had crashed into a tree before a 4WD pursued the car into a fence on Cartwright Road, said a resident who was on scene.
The only casualties are believed to be a ripped up wheelie bin, a bent street sign and some frightened residents. No one was injured.

The driver was charged with one count each of drink driving, driving an unregistered vehicle, using a number plate registered to another vehicle, wilfully making unnecessary noise or smoke, and driving as a learner without being properly supervised, a QPS spokesperson said.
The driver is due to appear at Gympie Magistrates Court on February 16, 2023.
