Police said the 19-year-old was driving her Mini Cooper along Hilton Rd about 12.05am when a car carrying four men pulled in front of her.

She threw the car into reverse, backed up several metres and then drove towards Excelsior Rd with the group of men pursuing her in their own car.
The teenager then turned on to Hyne St, near Gympie Central Shopping Centre, and pulled into the drive-through of a fast food outlet about 1km from where the carjacking attempt happened.
The car did not follow her into the lane, and she phoned police from there.
