Police have charged a 24-year-old Miva woman with multiple offences following an incident in Rainbow Beach at the beginning of the week.
Around 3pm, on April 22, police responded to reports from the public that a woman was seen to be driving dangerously in a blue 2011 Mazda 3 on Rainbow Beach Road.
Police attended and stopped the vehicle on Rainbow Beach and it will be alleged the woman supplied a positive roadside breath test of 0.166%, almost three times the legal limit.
Police transported the woman to Gympie Police Station and will allege she refused to supply a specimen of breath and obstructed police.
The woman was then transported to the Gympie Watchhouse where she allegedly spat at an officer.
The 24-year-old Miva woman was charged with one count each of driving under the influence of liquor, obstruct police and assault police.
The woman is due to appear in the Gympie Magistrates Court on May 16.
Police have thanked the Rainbow Beach community for their assistance.
