A Bundaberg region man is awaiting sentencing after pleading guilty to multiple charges over a 2023 burglary and robbery in the Wide Bay.

A Bundaberg region man who robbed a woman at knifepoint will be sentenced later in the year with his lawyers flagging a psychiatric report will be tendered to the courts on his behalf.

James Denning, 27, appeared in custody at the Gympie District Court to plead guilty to the charges, all laid following his arrest for the September 18, 2023 spree.

These charges included illegally entering the woman’s Redridge home while armed with a knife, robbing the woman at knifepoint, stealing her mobile phone and stealing her car.

Denning was accompanied by a second, unidentified person at the time.

James Denning, 27, appeared in custody at Gympie District Court to plead guilty to charges including burglary and robbery while armed with a knife, and unlawful use of a motor vehicle, all laid following his arrest for a September 18, 2023 offending spree.

Further details of the offending were not revealed in court.

The Qunaba man’s sentencing was adjourned until the next sittings of the city’s District Court, scheduled to run across late October and early November, to allow for the completion and submission to the courts of a psychiatric report.

The report was expected to be finished by Monday, September 2.
