Maya Linnell coming to Gympie on Qld book tour
The bestselling Australian author will be visiting and will give the chance to talk with her as well as purchase a copy of her book, and have it signed.

The word is out: bestselling author Maya Linnell is coming to Gympie!
Ms Linnell, who is from country Victoria, is currently on a book tour around the state to promote her new novel, Magpie’s Bend, and will be at Gympie Library between 1pm and 2pm on Monday, June 28.
She said her visit is an in-conversation event, which means people will have the opportunity to talk with her, as well as purchase the book and have it signed.
She said this isn’t her first time visiting the town that saved Queensland, as she had previously been in town for the book tour of her first novel, Wildflower Ridge.
“It was such a lovely little reception, we thought we’d come back again,” she said.
The book she is promoting, Magpie’s Bend, is set in a country town like Gympie, which finds itself in trouble when one of the main businesses and heart of the town faces permanent closure.
Ms Linnell said the novel was inspired by her life in rural country Victoria.
“We’ve always lived in small country towns, so it’s just natural to kind of include issues that are important to people that live in these small areas,” she said.
She also said she will be in Gympie for the day on Monday, with her next stop at the Moreton Bay Readers and Writers Festival for a workshop on July 1.
