Picturesque Kandanga wedding venue and holiday hideaway Honeybee Country Accommodation is under new ownership, with the property selling this month for an undisclosed price.

The 10ha property, which boasts nine separate cottages and can host 32 people, had been on the market since December last year.

It was one of the properties bought by the State Government for $445,000 ahead of its controversial (and failed) Traveston dam plan in 2007.

It remained in the state’s hands until 2013, when the state took a $120,000 loss on the deal and sold it for $325,000.

The venue stayed in these owners’ hands for seven years.

Along with the cottages, Honeybee has a mini golf course, basketball court, fire pit area and walking tracks.

Two commercial kitchens, function marquees and a central functions room are also located on the site.
