School students from Gympie are among 1200 students to dazzle audiences as they perform in Queensland’s biggest youth performing arts event in Brisbane, which will also be televised nationally in November.
Creative Generation – State Schools Onstage (CGEN) will be held at the Brisbane Convention Centre across three nights and four performances, which kicked off on Thursday and finishes this Saturday, July 17.
Education Minister Grace Grace said this is the first performance in two years, as last year’s performance was cancelled due to Covid.
“CGEN features orchestra, choirs, dancers, actors, vocalists and student media and stage crew who represent state schools from all corners of the state,” she said.
“It takes real courage for students to audition for a show like this and confidence to stand on stage and perform for a live audience.”
“I take my hat off to every student.”
The show will be televised nationally on Network Ten at 12pm on Saturday, November 27, 2021.
