The Gympie Music Muster has delivered the goods once again, breaking ticket sale records, packing the Amamoor Creek State Forest and drawing 50,000 visitations across the pre-Muster and official Muster period.

In 2023, the Muster sold out of four-day season passes and in 2024, organisers provided extra camping spots, selling even more four-day passes with record-breaking crowds packing the nine venues, and 8000 music lovers in front of the
Optus Hill Stage.

Charity partner Rural Aid also raised plenty of money and community and volunteer groups involved in the event raised money for their various causes. The Muster is a huge support of emerging talent and the Mothertone Gympie Music Muster Talent Search resulted in Saralyn from Paterson, NSW crowned the Open section winner and Bundaberg’s Keely Ellen taking out the Junior section.

In 2023, there was a wedding on the main stage, and this year one woman used Simply Bushed’s Great Northern Muster Club performance to propose to her partner, who said yes.

Muster CEO Greg Cavanagh said the festival had about 40,000 visitations in 2023, and that rose by another 10,000 in 2024.
“The Muster team does a fantastic job of bringing the event together, getting the mix of music right, and providing a wonderful atmosphere that brings generations together in the forest every August,” he said.
“We had record four-day pass sales with single-day ticket sales on par with last year, but the trend is for people to come for the whole festival.”

With music ranging from bush ballads to pop country, blues, rock and roots, the Gympie Music Muster delivered something for every music lover, and a massive drawcard is the atmosphere in the campgrounds.
The Muster Mates Campground Competition encourages campers to pimp their campsites and this year’s winner was the Better Class of Losers Bar with runners-up The Cows Bar.

The atmosphere, special events and the range of genres all combine to create an event that continues to grow.
Organisers have already hit the ground running to plan the 2025 Muster.
The Gympie Music Muster will run from August 28-31, 2025.
