Fire and ambulance called out to 20 tonne excavator on fire

Queensland Fire and Emergency Services crews were quick to extinguish a 20 tonne excavator fire south of Gympie.

Emergency services attended a fire on Carlson Rd near the Old Bruce Highway this morning after a 20 tonne excavator caught fire.

Firefighters arrived at 8.10am and contained the fire in 10 minutes.

Queensland Fire and Emergency Rescue Service left the scene at 9.20am safely in the hands of the property owner, a spokesperson said.

Homeowners spurn buyback offers in flood zones

No further investigations by police or investigation units followed and there was no descriptions of the size or cause of fire.

Ambulance officers were on the scene. No injuries or assessments were required.
