The driver of a 4WD has escaped serious injury after his vehicle rolled near Glenwood in the early hours of Monday morning.

Emergency services were called to the scene of the crash at Neerdie Rd about 4.19am.

A QAS spokeswoman said the man was assessed by paramedics but did not need to be taken to hospital.

The crash comes as the Wide Bay Burnett grapples with the worst road toll in the state in 2023, with 44 killed across the region since the start of the year.

A 75-year-old Dundowran Beach man was the latest to lose their life on the roads, with the man succumbing to serious injuries suffered after the motorcycle he was riding collided with a car at Eli Waters near Hervey Bay.

Police have been pleading for drivers to take more care on the roads in response to the road toll amid concern the message is not sinking in to the public.
