Court proceedings against three people accused of causing the woodchipper death of a Sunshine Coast man in the Gympie region three years ago will drag on into another month.
Sharon Graham, 60, Peter John Koenig, 64, and Gregory Lee Roser, 62, each face charges of murder and attempting to pervert justice, stemming from an incident in which Bruce Saunders’ body went through an industrial woodchipper on November 12, 2017 on a Goomboorian property.
Mr Saunders had been clearing trees with Mr Koenig and Mr Roser on the property owned by their mutual friend on the date in question.
The trio’s matters were listed for mention in the Brisbane Supreme Court on June 11, but a spokeswoman for the court said the next mention is set to take place on August 6.
The three defendants will not be required to appear at that mention, the spokeswoman said.
More than 20 witnesses were called to give evidence during Mr Koenig‘s and Mr Roser’s committal hearing, which took place in the Maroochydore Magistrates Court starting in October 2019.
The hearing heard the two men allegedly phoned Ms Graham just moments after they are alleged to have fed Mr Saunders’ body through the woodchipper.
The court heard Mr Roser and Mr Koenig made the alleged phone call to Ms Graham and 19 minutes later told a woman of the fatal incident on her property, and asked her to call police.

Police prosecutor Mick Phillips said about 20 minutes later, officers arrived at what would later be declared a crime scene.
Mr Saunders‘ partially-shredded body was found headfirst with his legs hanging out of the woodchipper, the hearing heard.
Ms Graham waived her right to a prior examination of prosecution evidence and therefore did not appear for the committal hearing.
