A 23-year-old Gympie region father will be behind bars for six months after committing 14 offences in two months, including driving dangerously through a school zone.
Appearing in custody on Tuesday in Gympie Magistrates Court, Lachlan Patrick Muller pleaded guilty to 14 charges, including two of dangerous operation of a vehicle, two evade police, four disqualified driving and two unlawful use of a motor vehicle.

Muller also faced charges of possessing dangerous drugs, firearms and explosives.
On November 4, 2020, Muller was caught by police speeding through a school zone, locking his wheels, driving on the wrong side of the road, driving through a crossing and narrowly missing vehicles, the court heard.
Magistrate Kurt Fowler said Muller “doubled-down” on those offences when he drove dangerously again just few weeks later, on December 3.
“Someone in the vehicle was not wearing a seatbelt,” Mr Fowler said.
“You were driving 100km/h within a built up residential area, failing to stop at a stop sign, through a red light on Mount Pleasant Road which lead to evade offences and you were disqualified driving at those times.”

Muller’s pregnant partner and grandmother appeared in the public gallery and the court heard he had already been jailed on another dangerous driving offence.
Mr Fowler said his family’s support said “something” about him as a person, but that his history and the more recent criminal activity was “inescapable”.
“You are now 23, with an extraordinary history for someone your age, but Mr Muller I suspect you’ve heard it all before,” he said.
“What‘s going to occur very quickly is that you are not going to be able to be dealt with in the Magistrates Court.
“That's the level it’s got to.”

Mr Fowler told the court Muller had already spent 125 days in pre-sentence custody.
Muller will remain behind bars until he is released on parole on October 22.
He was banned from driving for four years and three months. Convictions were recorded.
