KIM Kardashian and Kanye West are rumoured to be the next celebrities ready to purchase their own piece of heaven in Gladstone's harbour.

The man managing the real estate deal, Coldwell Banker's Richard Vanhoff, said he had showed a high-profile overseas visitor around the $5 million Turtle Island on Friday.

"I cannot say who it is. I don't know the story of how Kanye and Kim got out; I am not the author of that," he said.

Mr Vanhoff said while he wouldn't confirm the rumours, he said he showed the visitor around the 21-acre island via helicopter.

Kim Kardashian has been in Australia launching her new perfume.

The island has attracted its fair share of interest over the years.

Clive Palmer, Julie Roberts, Geoffrey Edelsten and a Chinese venture group have previously shown interest in the island.

According to rumours, the high-profile couple were apparently impressed with the immaculate 600sq m home that features five bedrooms.

Turtle Island, which is currently owned by Sydney couple Steven and Marcia Christofidellis, has been on the market for more than two years. Its listed value is $5 million.

Mr Vanhoff said it was good to see the island being talked about again.

"There is certainly some noise at the moment that they want to progress with the purchase," he said.

"We are hoping to have a settlement in the next few months."

Mr Vanhoff said the overseas couple provided very positive feedback on their visit.

"The loved it," he said.

"They weren't overly happy with the industrial side of Gladstone, but the gardens and easterly aspect of Facing Island was the money shot.

"They were impressed with the house and the high degree of privacy. It is only about an hour or so getting out to Lady Musgrave Island.

"Being close to the Barrier Reef was also on their agenda."

Mr Vanhoff said being close to the airport and shopping centre was also a factor in the visitors' attraction to the island, which would serve as a holiday home.

"They would stay during their break," he said.

"Primarily the customer would arrive via Gladstone Airport and fly to the island by helicopter."

The current owners bought the property in 1999 for $3 million. It was reduced from $5.7 million to $5 million earlier this year.

The home boasts a large music room, entertainment room, in-ground pool, huge kitchen, private jetty, helipad and the ability to build on the island.
