A Central Queensland mum has faced court after she was busted with drugs during a police raid of a hotel.

Tayla Elaine D’Arcy, 27, pleaded guilty in Gladstone Magistrates Court on October 18 to three counts of possessing dangerous drugs, two counts of possessing drug utensils, and one count of possessing a restricted medicine.

The court heard these charges stemmed from incidents in Gladstone prior to D’Arcy getting a four-month wholly suspended jail sentence (for 10 months) in the District Court in August for supplying dangerous drugs, and police prosecutor Kelvin Boyd said “ultimately totality issues may come into play.”

In relation to these charges, the court heard D’Arcy was busted with methamphetamine, cannabis and diazepam, a glass pipe and a bong, and a schedule four medicine during a hotel drug raid.

Solicitor Rio Ramos said at the time of this offending, D’Arcy, a mother of two, had been “hotel hopping” and in “a really bad place.”

Ms Ramos said D’Arcy was now doing well on probation and the suspended sentence, and she was now living at a friend’s house.

“And hopefully she can get back on her feet now moving forward from here on,” Ms Ramos said.

The court heard that D’Arcy had a three-page criminal history and Ms Ramos submitted that history was “limited until this year.”

Magistrate Mary Buchanan convicted D’Arcy of these offences and did not further punish her.

Convictions were recorded.
