A Gladstone man on his way to court was intercepted by police and found to be driving while unlicensed, a court heard.
Nathan Paul Joseph Wehlow, 33, pleaded guilty to the charge on Tuesday in the Gladstone Magistrates Court.
On June 10, around 12.20pm, Wehlow was directed into a roadside breath testing site on Roe Street, Miriam Vale.
Checks conducted on his Queensland driver’s licence showed he was demerit point suspended at the time until June 23, 2021.
Wehlow told police he was unaware of the suspension and was travelling to court for a family court matter at the time.
Checks revealed he was intercepted by police in Rockhampton on April 21 and made aware of the suspension and charged in relation to another matter.
Wehlow was issued a notice to appear in the Gladstone Magistrates Court.
Acting Magistrate Paul Byrne convicted and fined Wehlow $550 and suspended him from driving for six months with a traffic conviction recorded.
