Emergency services race to house fire in Barney Point

Paramedics took a man to hospital in a stable condition after Gladstone house fire overnight.

Emergency services were called to a large house fire in Barney Point last night.

One man in his 50s was taken to Gladstone Hospital and treated for smoke inhalation.

A Queensland Fire Department spokesman said the blaze was extinguished by 8.50pm, with crews remaining on site until approximately 10pm conducting atmospheric testing.

A Queensland Ambulance Service spokeswoman said the man was in a stable condition.

A Queensland Police Service spokeswoman said the fire was not suspicious.
