Drug drivers or drink drivers who faced Gladstone Magistrates Court

Among the latest traffic offenders to face the Gladstone court was a grandma busted drug driving twice in a month and a P-plater nearly twice the legal alcohol limit even for open drivers. SEE LIST.

The following people pleaded guilty in Gladstone Magistrates Court on Monday to either drug driving or drink driving offences.

DRUG DRIVING

Leonie Kathryn Schubert, 51

Schubert was caught drug driving twice in the space of a month.

She pleaded guilty in Gladstone Magistrates Court on October 14 to two counts of drug driving.

The court heard police busted Schubert the first time on July 6, driving on Young Street, Barney Point, with cannabis in her system.

Then on August 2, she was caught, again with cannabis in her system, driving on the Dawson Highway at Mount Alma.

With no prior offending of this sort, Schubert, a mother and grandmother, was fined $600 and disqualified from driving for six months.

Traffic convictions were recorded.

DRUG DRIVING

Brian Crawford Benn, 40

Benn was caught driving with methamphetamine and cannabis in his system when police intercepted him on Palm Drive, Gladstone, on April 30.

He pleaded guilty in Gladstone Magistrates Court on October 14 to drug driving.

The court heard Benn, a process technician at Boyne Smelters, had completed the traffic offenders' program since this incident and he had no similar offending in the past five years.

He was fined $550 and disqualified from driving for one month.

DRINK DRIVING

Traffic conviction recorded

Simon Raymond Vincent, 51

Vincent blew a reading of .053 after he was intercepted on Malpas Street, Boyne Island, on August 29.

He pleaded guilty in Gladstone Magistrates Court on October 14 to drink driving.

With no prior offending of this sort, Vincent was fined $350 and disqualified from driving for one month.

DRINK DRIVING

Tiarna Marie Habermann, 19

P-plater Habermann blew a reading of .113 after police tested her on Yarroon Street, Gladstone, on September 18.

She pleaded guilty in Gladstone Magistrates Court on October 14 to drink driving.

With no prior similar offending, Habermann, a disability support worker, was fined $650 and disqualified from driving for three months.

No traffic conviction was recorded.
