Central Region male constable charged with drink driving

A 44-year-old male constable from the Central Region will appear in Gladstone court after he was charged with one count of driving while over the mid alcohol limit but below the high alcohol limit.

A 44-year-old male constable from the Central Region has been stood down from Queensland Police Service after he was served with a notice to appear in relation to an alleged mid-range drink driving offence.

He is expected to appear in the Gladstone Magistrates Court on January 13, 2025.

He has been charged with one count of driving while over the mid alcohol limit but below the high alcohol limit.

Police will alleged that the offence was detected when he was driving a private motor vehicle while off duty on January 1, 2025.

“In keeping with our commitment to high standards of behaviour, transparency and accountability, we have undertaken to inform the public when a member of the Service faces serious allegations of misconduct,” QPS stated in a media release.

“This does not mean that the allegations against the member have been substantiated.”
