THE number of property owners in the Gladstone region paying their rates in monthly instalments has doubled in the past six months.
This also means fewer ratepayers are taking advantage of the discount period for rates payment, giving Gladstone Regional Council's rateable income a boost.
A six-month audit of the council budget has shown variations in the projected figures, including a $5.56 million reduction in funds spent to construct or maintain assets.
There has been an increase in rateable income of $1.277 million, with $750,000 due to property growth.
The remaining increase came after fewer ratepayers than expected took advantage of the discount period.
Overall, there has been a decrease in development income and expected income from plumbing inspections and town planning.
A reduction in funding from LNG of $1.5 million has impacted capital revenue, and parks maintenance projects have dropped by $770,000, with parks development down by $1.539 million.
