Workplace Health and Safety Queensland are investigating a worksite accident where a retaining wall collapsed on a young man in his 20s.
The exact location of the incident is unknown, but the publication can confirm it did not occur at either the Acciona Solar Farm or the Rio Tinto Yarwun site in the area.
The man remains in Rockhampton Hospital after being airlifted from his workplace with ‘life-threatening chest and abdominal injuries’ after a dirt retaining wall collapsed, according to the Queensland Ambulance Service.

About 1.20pm on Friday the wall fell over at an Aldoga work site, west of Gladstone.

CapRescue said they were tasked to the accident after the young man became trapped following an excavation cave-in.

They said he was flown by Rescue300 to the hospital in a serious but stable condition.
