Gladstone’s Gambling Community Benefit Fund Round 109 recipients

More than half a dozen Gladstone sporting clubs are set to benefit from a cash boost to purchase new equipment. Find out if your club is on the list.

Seven sporting organisations in the Gladstone region have received money from the State Government courtesy of a prevalent funding scheme.

A total of eight groups from the Gladstone electorate received $243,328.50 from Round 109 of the Gambling Community Benefit Fund.

The successful Round 109 recipients include Central Football Club Gladstone, that received $35,000 to upgrade the irrigation system.

Football Central Queensland received $29,530 to purchase a ride on mower and equipment.

Gladstone Harbour City B.M.X Club received $35,000 to upgrade the track.

Gladstone Kart Club received $29,005 to purchase mowers and equipment.

Integrate Queensland received $35,000 to purchase a food and coffee van.

The Past Brothers’ Rugby League Football Club Gladstone received $15,174.50 to install a scoreboard.

Valleys Junior Rugby League Football Club received $35,000 to purchase a lawn tractor.

Valleys Rugby League Football Club Gladstone received $29,619 to purchase portable grandstands.

Member for Gladstone Glenn Butcher said the Gambling Community Benefit Fund was a great way to get a big financial boost for projects that might otherwise be out of reach.

“Grants of up to $35,000 are available for equipment, facility upgrades, events, vehicles and more,” he said.

“We recently visited the Gladstone Maritime Museum who have previously been successful in receiving the Gambling Community Benefit Fund to purchase display cases to showcase Gladstone’s colourful maritime and local history.

“The Gladstone Maritime Museum are hoping to have the new cases by the end of August providing additional collection of Gladstone’s history.

“These grants are helping Queensland communities get back to business. I would encourage any community organisations including sporting clubs, P & Cs and not-for-profits to apply for grants of up to $35,000 for projects that will benefit their community.”
