MEGA LIST: Queensland Australia Day 2022 celebrations

From citizenship and awards ceremonies to pool parties and classic barbecues, this is how Queenslanders will celebrate what it means to be an Aussie on January 26. SEE THE LIST.‘

Central Coast Council won't fly Australian flag as it may 'offend' people

Live music, sausage sizzles, fireworks and lamingtons are all on the cards this Australia Day with more than 170 registered events taking place across the state to help Queenslanders shake off those Covid blues.

From citizenship and awards ceremonies to pool parties and classic barbecues, Queenslanders will have their pick when choosing how to celebrate what it means to be an Aussie on January 26.

Brisbane residents can head to the Gap Tavern to play free pool all day or take a tour of one of Australia’s most notorious prison, Boggo Road Jail, while further west, Gatton folk can partake in some good old fashioned gumboot throwing or judge the annual Lamington bake-off.

OzHarvest can provide two meals for someone in need for just $1. With the impact of COVID-19 many people are experiencing food insecurity for the first time ever. By helping Oche raise money for OzHarvest, you’re helping them to provide food relief to the over 5 million Aussies currently experiencing food insecurity. Together, we can provide hope and change the lives of many – you’ll be directly feeding someone in need, giving them the opportunity to lead a better life.

From Thursday January 27 to Sunday January 30 2022, Oche will host a Karma Keg from Stone and Wood Brewing Company, with all sales revenue going towards helping OzHarvest provide meals for those in need. Karma Kegs work by allowing guests to pay whatever they like for the beer until it runs out; the more the customer gives, the better karma they’ll have! That’s a good reason to raise a glass.
