Teen flown off K’gari with spinal injuries after diving incident

A teenage boy with possible spinal injuries has been flown to hospital after diving into shallow water at K’gari.

A teenage boy has been flown off K’gari with suspected spinal injuries after diving into shallow waters at Lake McKenzie.

The incident happened about 5.30pm on Tuesday.

The LifeFlight crew landed the helicopter on the beach near the incident.

A spokeswoman from the Queensland Ambulance Service said the teen was flown to the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital in a stable condition following the diving incident.
