Shop fire forces evacuation of Hervey Bay Stocklands
Boxing Day bargain hunters have been evacuated from Hervey Bay’s main shopping centre at the peak of its busiest day of the year.

Hundreds of Boxing Day bargain hunters were forced to evacuate Stockland Hervey Bay Shopping Centre after a fire broke out at one of the shops.
Emergency crews were called to the centre, at Central Ave off Boat Harbour Dr, shortly before 9am.
A QFES spokeswoman said a fire had started at a shop inside the centre, sending smoke throughout parts of the building.
No-one was injured in the fire, and the centre reopened to customers shortly after 11am.
