New details on a violent altercation at a Maryborough home which ended in the shooting of a 32-year-old man can be revealed as the hunt for the culprits continues.

The firearm used in a violent burglary at Maryborough at the weekend was a shotgun, it can be revealed.
It comes as police continue to investigate the events which ended in a man in his 30s being shot in the foot and a group of offenders fleeing in a stolen car.
However, it’s understood police have been provided with limited information and descriptions of the offenders.
Emergency crews were called to a home on Jupiter St, Maryborough about 11.33pm and the injured man was taken to Hervey Bay Hospital.
According to police, just before 8pm, a group of people attended the home and gained entry into a black Honda Civic before leaving in the vehicle.
The group then returned to the address in the stolen vehicle around 11.30pm, armed with a firearm and attempted to gain entry to the house.
“During the incident, a firearm was discharged at the residence and a 32-year-old man sustained a wound to his foot,” a police statement read.
“He was transported to (Hervey Bay) hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
“The group left the scene in the stolen Honda prior to police arrival.”
