Gas leak reported on Old Gympie Road, Tinana

Evacuations are underway and a major road is closed in both directions following a suspected gas line rupture on the Fraser Coast. VIDEO, PHOTOS.

Businesses evacuated following suspected gas line rupture on the Fraser Coast.

A major Fraser Coast road is closed both ways and surrounding businesses are being evacuated following a suspected gas leak on Thursday.

Police are directing traffic away from Old Gympie Rd, Tinana and the corner of Kelvin Grove St, near the Neds 1 Stop service station and neighbouring motel.

According to the Queensland Fire and Emergency Service, a gas examiner has been called in and “atmospheric testing” is underway.

Multiple fire, ambulance and police crews are on scene where paramedics have assessed one person but no injuries have yet been reported.
