An argument about schoolyard bullying spiralled out of control when a man told a mum she’d better keep her “f**king mouth shut”.
Aaron James Turvey pleaded guilty to making threats when he appeared before Maryborough Magistrates Court on Tuesday.
Police prosecutor Sergeant Balam Selvadurai said a woman parked her car at her property about 3.1opm on July 8, 2024, when she saw a white sedan parked in the driveway.
Turvey got out of the car and a discussion began between the two when he told her “you had better keep your f**king mouth shut or I’ll shut it up for you”, Sgt Selvadurai said.
He then returned to his car and started revving it loudly, spinning the rear wheels and driving away.
On August 17, 2024, police spoke to Turvey in relation to the matter.
He was cooperative and made full admissions, Mr Selvadurai said.
Defence lawyer Morgan Harris said the incident had been sparked by alleged bullying towards Turvey’s child.
He said Turvey had intended to speak to the woman about the issue but accepted he did escalate the situation and was remorseful.
Mr Harris said Turvey was working part-time and receiving Centrelink payments.
Turvey was fined $800 and a conviction was recorded.
