A man will face court next month after a bouncer was allegedly assaulted outside a hotel at Torquay.
The incident happened about 1am on Sunday at the Torquay Hotel.
Detective Sergeant Steve Watts confirmed the incident had involved a bouncer allegedly being assaulted at the premises, but said as the matter was before court, not further information could be provided.
Emergency crews were called to the Esplanade in the early hours of Sunday morning following the alleged assault, which left the man hospitalised.
The man, aged in his 20s, suffered head and facial injuries in the incident and was transported to Hervey Bay Hospital, a spokeswoman from the Queensland Ambulance Service said.
A 22-year-old Eli Waters man has been charged with grievous bodily harm while adversely affected in a public place following the incident.
The Eli Waters man will face Hervey Bay Magistrates Court on June 13.
He is currently on bail.
