One person has been taken to hospital after their Maryborough home was gutted in an intense blaze which took firefighters an hour to bring under control and extinguish.
Multiple firefighting crews were called to the Ward St home about 12.50pm Saturday after part of the house caught fire.
The home was already up in flames when crews arrived.
A Queensland Fire Department spokeswoman said crews were finally able to extinguish the blaze shortly before 2pm, preventing it from spreading to nearby homes.
The home suffered structural damage in the fire and part of the roof had collapsed, she said.
A fire investigator will be investigating the site on Sunday.
The only occupant of the home was taken to Maryborough Hospital with minor injuries.
