One hospitalised after early morning house fire in Eli Waters

A person has been taken to hospital after a house fire in Hervey Bay early this morning.

Two people were assessed at the scene of a house fire in Eli Waters, Hervey Bay, early Sunday morning.

Emergency services were alerted to the blaze on Wattlebird Lane at 5.59am.

A Queensland Fire Department spokeswoman confirmed the fire started in the front area of the house, leading to significant damage, including a roof collapse.

“They had it under control at about 6.30am, and then they were just working to dampen down hotspots after that,” the spokeswoman said.

She said that fire investigators are expected to attend the scene tomorrow to determine the cause of the fire.

A Queensland Ambulance Service spokeswoman said two individuals were assessed at the scene.

“One male patient was transported to hospital with a minor finger injury,” she said.
