New costume ball to bring FraserPop Festival to whole new level

A popular annual Maryborough festival is going to a whole new level this year with the addition of a Cosplayers Ball to add a touch of glamour and attract movie stars.

A new event has been added to Maryborough State High School’s FraserPop Festival, with the Cosplayers Ball set to be held for the first time.

Principal Simon Done also hinted at more exciting guests planned for this year’s event, including an international movie star, a cult movie legend, a world class animator and a multi-Academy Award winning studio costume and prop designer set to be part of the festival.

He said the ball would be a licensed event and a magical experience with live bands and food int he school’s performing arts complex.

Tickets are limited to 200 and will be available on EventBrite in coming days.

FraserPop is planned and put together by the school’s talented business students.

The award-winning pop culture festival is held annually on the school’s grounds.

The 2021 event attracted special guests including Nathan Jones who starred as General Reiko in the Mortal Kombat movie and Mark Raats, the artist responsible for the iconic poster designs associated with Star Wars and Indiana Jones.

Mr Done was remaining tight lipped about the Business and Tourism Awards Hall of Fame festival, but has said, a number of events and attractions would be announced in coming weeks.

The 2022 event had a number of special guests, notably Matt Doran, star of the Star Wars and The Matrix series.

FraserPop will begin on July 14 and continue over the following weekend.
