A private Fraser Coast college has unveiled plans to give its campus a major facelift, opening the doors to more than 100 new students and employing about two dozen extra staff.

Maryborough’s Riverside Christian College has unveiled plans to overhaul its offerings by way of an expansion.
The move would allow it to add more than 100 new students and almost two dozen staff.
The college has lodged an application with the Fraser Coast Regional Council proposing to extend the popular private school by constructing a two-storey junior college on its existing grounds.
It will be built in two stages if approved.

The junior college building would be constructed in the first stage.
Stage two would expand the building and replace the existing 26-parking spot junior car park with a 50-spot one.

The new layout would improve the safety of the school’s pick-up and drop-off zone, the application says.
The application says the expansion is necessary to “provide junior school students and staff with improved facilities”.
The ground floor of the new college would include six classrooms, a junior lab, staff rooms and an outdoor play area.
Another nine classrooms would be built on the second floor and a junior music room would be added.
It would allow the college to accommodate another 135 students and allow the addition of 22 more full-time staff.
Three detached buildings currently serving students from Years 1 to 3 will be demolished at the college to make way for the expansion.
