Man taken to hospital after falling into backyard fire pit at Kawungan

A man has been taken to hospital with burns to his legs after he fell into a backyard fire pit at a home in the Fraser Coast region.

A man has been taken to hospital with burns to his legs after he fell into a backyard fire pit at a home in Hervey Bay on Saturday night.

Crews responded to the incident at a private address at Kawungan at 10.54pm.

Queensland Ambulance Service paramedics assessed a man in his 40s with burns to his legs.

A QAS spokeswoman said the man had fallen into a backyard fire pit.

The man was transported to Hervey Bay Hospital in a stable condition.

A Queensland Fire Department spokeswoman said one crew attended to assist QAS.

The spokeswoman said the fire was out when the crew had arrived on scene.
