Emergency service crews rushed to the scene of the incident, which happened near the Maryborough Showground about 3.35pm on Sunday.

The man, aged in his 30s, was in a critical condition with “significant” chest injuries, a spokeswoman from the Queensland Ambulance Service said.

Motorists were asked to expect delays as southbound traffic is being diverted towards Torbanlea.
