The staff said they were going to call police and when officers spoke to Behrendorff, they noticed he was slurring his speech, the court heard.

Defence lawyer Morgan Harris said Behrendorff received a disability pension and would be able to pay a fine.

“He is currently paying off a SPER debt,” he said.

Acting Magistrate Michael Bice said looking at Behrendorff’s criminal history, he felt he had some “anger issues” that needed to be addressed.

“When things go wrong you lash out and you can’t go into a school, a high school or state school, and start demanding what you want in relation to other people’s school bags or anything else,” he said.

Behrendorff was fined $500 and a conviction was recorded.
